Biography
Anikonik has been a key figure in Scotland’s underground bass scene for over a decade. Starting out in 2013 as a resident DJ and promoter with Junglism Scotland, she quickly built a name for herself across the country, playing and headlining events rooted in grassroots energy and sound system culture. Today, she’s recognised as a vital force in Scotland’s drum and bass movement and beyond. With regular appearances across clubs in Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond, as well as slots at festivals across the country, Anikonik stays closely tied to her roots. At the same time, her reach has steadily grown. Sets at Boomtown, Outlook UK, Kelburn Garden Party, Printworks, XOYO and Fabric have placed her firmly within the wider UK scene. She’s delivered standout guest mixes for BBC Radio 1 and RAMlive, and currently holds down a monthly slot on Rinse FM and Kool FM, broadcasting live every second Saturday from 6 to 7pm. Whether in the booth or the studio, Anikonik brings a focused and intentional energy. Her sets balance heavyweight pressure with emotional depth, moving fluidly between razor sharp rollers, halftime, and deeper, more experimental cuts. Her productions follow the same ethos - carefully built with no shortcuts. This approach earned her a place on the EQ50 mentorship programme and a collaboration with RAM Records, giving her the chance to hone her sound alongside established artists and engineers. She is the founder and driving force behind Nook, a platform dedicated to leftfield bass music, dubstep, and halftime drum and bass. Operating as both a label and event series, Nook is deeply rooted in sound system culture, placing the rig and the music at the centre of the experience. With a focus on immersive, bass-led sessions and boundary-pushing sounds, Nook is carving out space for artists and dancers who live for the low end. If you know, you know. And if you don’t, tune in.
