MIA MONROE

Mia Monroe Free-spirited, unconventional and eccentric are just a few ways you could describe South African born artist, Mia Monroe. Her signature sound is a blend of driving Techno and smooth Tech-House. Monroe has wide-ranging roots that include deep bass lines with organic instrumental sounds. Growing up, Monroe was influenced by modernist classical music but soon discovered a love for House music. Along with an appreciation for funky house, speed garage, she fell in love with techno the first time she saw Carl Cox playing in 1998. Her background paints a colourful scope of knowledge in the music scene. Monroe decided to further her knowledge and career in the music industry, mastered the decks and was soon given the opportunity to play at esteemed nightclubs around South Africa such as Truth, H2o Festival, FTV, Infinity at Trinity Mia was asked to warm up for Groove Armada, Sunday Satisfaction, Bang Bang Club, Chevelle, Shimmy Beach, Love Peace Techno, Too Many Honey’s, Collective Objective. In 2011, Monroe moved to London where she started playing at Various nightclubs such as Ministry of Sound, Egg London, Gigalum, Lightbox, Fu Manchu, Radio Rooftop Bar, Trafik, Mazi. She held residency’s at Spice Market & Dirty Martini. Mia has also played in Ibiza for Lucky Life Parties & Kanye Beach Bar.She has been booked to play exclusive sets at private villa parties in both Ibiza & Mykonos. Mia has studied music production through Soul Candi & is currently working on producing some new material. Mia threw Big Bang in the Bush a Techno Electronic festival in Cape Town 2010 & has experience in event management she is also co founder of the brand MovementLDN.
